Late Grandmaster was one of the best theoricians in the art and science of checker. We were honored to count him among the committee members of ICAONA. In his function as Vice President, Turij worked feverishly to bring the association to a new heights. He felt that a great country like the United States of America deserved to be a leading platform for expanding the game. And consequently, he attracted several players, mainly the young.
Our hope is that the present US Open which bears expressly his name will contribute to further popularize checker in the USA, as he had always dreamed. May his spirit guide the steps of ICAONA throughout the years ahead!
Of course, we are inviting anyone to join and to become a member of ICAONA. We are accepting application for member now. Please dont miss the chance to become part of one of America's most respected checker organization.
