In Willemstad, Curacao from June 2nd to June 10th 2018 Pan-American Draughts Federation conducted 20th Pan-American Senior International Draughts Championship 2018 (33 participants) and Historical 1th Pan American Championship Women( 8 Ladies).

USA in these tournaments represented Lyublyana Turiy(New York) , Rudi Azimullah(Louisiana) ,Igor Rybakov(Minnesota).

Our congratulations to Lyublyana Turiy with a great achieving – winning 1th Pan American Championship among Ladies! She obtained 100% result – 7 victories in 7 games and deserved the right to represent Pan America in World Championship 2019 (Ufa, Russia).

Guno Burleson from Surinam won his 3th(!) title of Pan American Champion in Draughts among seniors(5 wins, 4 draws). Igor Rybakov scored 3 wins and 6 draws. The same result got 4 more players. In additional challenge Igor finished on 4^th place. Hopefully(with some luck) Igor will receive an invitation to play in World Championship). Rudi Azimullah ( 2 wins, 4 draws and 2 loses) was on 21th place.

The tournaments were well organized but several important issues with the arbiters and pairings I would like to discuss on the next PanAm GA meeting. 0 2 Lu • 10:12 PM, 2018-07-24 Hello again, I would like to add few more pieces of information regarding the 1st women championship, as I am both immensely proud and happy that it took place - something I was losing hope that would actually happen! Firstly, before the beginning of the tournament, several players including myself, were interviewed by the Curacao television.
